Last night’s episode of IMPACT Wrestling saw an in-ring segment take place, where top AEW Stars Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen of Private Party as well as top AEW Star Matt Hardy made a surprise appearance. The segment started with the IMPACT World Tag Team Champions The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows) making their way down to the ring to gloat about their victory on last Saturday night’s Hard To Kill PPV.
The Good Brothers were then interrupted by Chris Sabin, who said that he wanted a rematch for the tag team titles. The Good Brothers then pointed out that Alex Shelley wasn’t there on the show, but Sabin said that he had another guy. James Storm’s music would then hit and The Cowboy would make his return to the company. Sabin and Storm would then continue to make their case for a shot at the IMPACT World Tag Team Titles, but they were interrupted by AEW’s Matt Hardy and Private Party.
Matt Hardy would then praise Private Party and say that they should be the ones getting a title shot. Hardy then promoted the Six-Man Match on this week’s Dynamite, which will see Hardy and Private Party take on Matt Sydal and Top Flight. Hardy then mentioned that he saved IMPACT from collapsing in 2016, and that he and his brother, WWE Star Jeff Hardy, never lost the IMPACT World Tag Team Titles.
A blockbuster main event would then be announced, where we would see Chris Sabin and James Storm face Private Party (Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen), with the winners being named as the new #1 Contenders to The IMPACT Wrestling World Tag Team Champions The Good Brothers.
Prior to the main event getting started, Tony Khan and Jerry Lynn would bring two chairs out to get a closer look at the action. Hardy was also out as he accompanied Private Party to the ring. The finish of the main event would see Jerry Lynn interfere to help Private Party secure the win, and become the new #1 Contenders to The Good Brothers’ IMPACT Wrestling World Tag Team Titles. After the main event, IMPACT Wrestling World Tag Team Champions The Good Brothers made their way down to the ring and faced off with Private Party until Sabin and Storm attacked them. IMPACT Wrestling went off the air after a huge brawl broke out.
There’s no word yet on when the IMPACT Wrestling World Tag Team Title Match between The Good Brothers and Private Party will take place or if Chris Sabin and James Storm will be added to the match due to the interference, but updates will be provided once it has been made available.
