AEW’s AQA Announces She Is Stepping Away From Pro Wrestling

AQA, who previously worked for the WWE as part of their developmental system and signed with WWE back in January 2021 as part of the promotion’s WWE NXT brand under the in-ring name Zayda Ramier, took to Twitter and revealed she has decided to step away from pro wrestling for the immediate future because she hasn’t been in a great place with wrestling both physically and mentally, but despite all of that she still kept pushing through because she didn’t want to be seen as weak. AQA then thanked All Elite Wrestling for granting her this time.

After signing with the WWE last January 2021, AQA was let go by the company this past November due to a health issue as she was “medically disqualified” from in-ring competition. She would then sign with AEW last February and have her debut match with the promotion on an episode of AEW Dynamite, when she challenged AEW TBS Champion Jade Cargill in an AEW TBS Title Matchup, but would unfortunately come up short.

She has since competed in 6 more matchups, mostly on AEW Dark and AEW Dark: Elevation. AQA would also wrestle at ROH’s Supercard Of Honor this past April, when she faced and defeated Miranda Alize on the ROH Supercard Of Honor Zero Hour Pre-Show. Prior to signing with All Elite Wrestling and the WWE, AQA was trained by WWE Hall of Famer Booker T in his Reality Of Wrestling school, where she is a two-time former ROW Diamonds Division Champion, winning the title in 2018 and 2019 with her two reigns lasting a combined 231 days.
