AEW’s Rey Fenix Reportedly Out Of Action For One More Month

As previously reported, the main event of the TBS premiere episode of AEW Dynamite saw Lucha Brothers (Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix) put the AEW World Tag Team Titles on the line against Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy of Jurassic Express, with Jurassic Express beating Lucha Brothers to become the brand-new AEW World Tag Team Champions.

There was a spot in the match where Fenix was put through a table on the outside by Luchasaurus, with Fenix landing really bad and it even seemed like Fenix twisted his arm and it came out of it’s socket upon impact. Rey Fenix then grabbed his left arm and it looked like he was calling for assistance. An update would then be provided by one-half of the Lucha Brothers, revealing that he did not suffer any broken bones and that he was even expected to make his in-ring return in mid-February.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rey Fenix’s condition has improved and his arm is out of the sling, but he is still expected to be out of in-ring action for one more month, which means he will only make his highly-anticipated in-ring return sometime by mid-March.

Fenix is scheduled to team with Penta El Zero Miedo to take on Dragon Lee and Dralistico at tonight’s AAA Rey de Reyes Event, but the Wrestling Observer reports that the match will likely be changed to a Singles Match between Penta El Zero Miedo and Dralistico. Rey Fenix is also set to team with Penta El Zero Miedo at House Of Glory’s Salvation Event on Friday, March 11, where they will put their HOG Tag Team Title on the line against the 12-time ROH World Tag Team Champions The Briscoes (Jay Briscoe and Mark Briscoe) for the first time ever and it looks like Fenix will be cleared to work that event.
