Tony Nese has been steadily working in AEW, racking in quite a few matches, making a name for himself in AEW. He doesn’t get much play on Dynamite, but give him time, as he should be in major story lines soon—at least I hope. He is a talent that needs to be on center stage, and I hope AEW capitalizes on his talents soon. He did have a great match with Sammy Guevara on Rampage for the TNT title on December 3rd, 2021.
Apparently though, he has had his sights set on one performer that has been seen often lately on both Dynamite and Rampage. It was just last night that Trent Beretta had quite the battle with one Jay White. It was an epic main event to say the least.
No wonder Tony Nese wants to team with him. In truth the two would work perfectly together…both highly athletic and with an in-ring stamina that rivals Kurt Angle’s in his day.
It was while speaking to Wrestling Headlines that Nese went into just why he and Beretta would be a good mix in the ring, fighting on the same side.
“I would say right now a good one that I would love to do again, is Trent Beretta…Probably almost no one knows this but me and Trent were a tag team before he went to WWE. Interesting. He was Plasma. And I was Maverick. I don’t I don’t know why. We teamed up for a while…
He was probably one of the first people I clicked with as a tag team. We kind of had the same style and the same ideas and the same… you know, we love watching the same stuff, studying the same stuff, because like, we kind of trained together…
And then when I started training, we kind of linked up and I would always go to his house and we’d watch like Hardy boy tapes and stuff like that. And like, yeah, we loved all that stuff. So he would be fun to partner up with again.”
Tegan Nox was released by WWE in the fall, and although many questioned if she would plan on wrestling elsewhere, she recently answered such questions in recent statements. It was while speaking on Into The Danger Zone W/ Chris Denker, that she spoke about her release and detailed some Impact and AEW stars she would absolutely love to get in the ring with. Here’s some of what she had to say:
“I was kind of happy that in a sense Tegan Nox died that day (speaking of the day WWE released her). Cool, I can be me. Do what I want to do instead just being like this sympathetic girl that’s had surgeries. If it’s their choice to let someone go, then let someone go and let them go do whatever the f**k they want to do…
I guess in this sense, being a foreigner, the 90-days worked out better for me because I have more time to get myself sorted with Visas. There are so many people from so many different companies that I want to work with…
I’d like to work with Ruby Soho again; I’d love to work with her. Actually have time with Deonna (Purrazzo) to go longer than three minutes, including entrances. Chelsea Green, Mickie James, Serena Deeb; let me wrestle Serena, my God, and Taylor Wilde. I have such a huge list of people I want to work with.”

According to a piece at Wrestling Inc, her 90-day no-compete clause with WWE is at an end and maybe now, we can get to see some of the possible matches she’s detailed in her statements, and what a list of matches it is, dear readers. It would be amazing to see some of these if not all, come to fruition soon.
