AEW’s Riho Has Reportedly Finished Up With Japan’s Stardom

Riho is one of the greatest, if not the greatest women’s wrestler in the modern era. For the past few months, she has not only been working for All Elite Wrestling but for Japanese-based all-women’s pro wrestling promotion Stardom as well.

However, it looks like Riho will mainly be working for All Elite Wrestling going forward as Dave Meltzer noted on Sunday’s Daily Update on F4WOnline.com that Riho has finished up with Stardom.

The report indicates that Stardom wanted their talent to be exclusive to them, which is an issue with Riho, as she is still under contract with AEW. Riho beat Nyla Rose in a Women’s Division Singles bout to become the inaugural AEW Women’s Champion on the premiere episode of AEW Dynamite in Washington at the Capital One Arena back in October 2019.

Riho was the AEW Women’s World Champion for 133 days before losing the AEW Women’s Title to Nyla Rose at Revolution. Riho’s last appearance for All Elite Wrestling was on the March 18th Dynamite when she competed in a 4-way Match against Hikaru Shida, Kris Statlander and Penelope Ford. She hasn’t been in AEW since then due to the COVID-19 travel restrictions.

Since her absence from All Elite Wrestling, Riho has mostly worked for Stardom. She lost her last two matches in Stardom, which includes back-to-back tag team bouts.
