AJ Styles Confirms Talks With AEW When WWE Contract Expired

Top WWE Star “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles recently took to his Twitch stream to talk about a number of topics, including having business talks with AEW about possibly signing with the company when his WWE contract was about to expire.

This is what AJ Styles said:

“Yeah, there were talks.” “Look, it’s a business. My contract in WWE was going to expire and there were talks happening.”

AJ Styles then talked about despite there being business talks, it never reached the point of discussing money matters.

This is what AJ Styles said:

“The Bucks are my buddies.” “We never discussed money or anything, but there were talks about coming in.” “Again, it’s all business.”

During an interview, AEW Executive Vice President Matt Jackson of the Young Bucks revealed that the original and initial plan was to debut at Madison Square Garden and have a Bullet Club reunion, which was supposed to include Styles, Gallows, and Anderson.

Since things didn’t work out as Styles ended up re-signing with WWE and, according to Matt Jackson, due to how things turned out, he received a significant raise to stay with AEW.
