Andrade Challenges Omega For AAA Mega Title, Omega Responds

WWE recently released a total of ten Superstars from their contracts, including Mexican Star Andrade, but he has been silent for a number of weeks until he was announced for the first-ever Federacion Pro Wrestling Event.

Towards the end of AAA’s Rey de Reyes Show last Saturday night, Andrade would appear via a pre-taped video message and announce that he is now with AAA and that he has two goals, wrestle AAA Star Psycho Clown and win the AAA Mega Championship.

Andrade then went ahead and challenged Kenny Omega, who is the AAA Mega Champion and also the AEW and IMPACT World Champion to a match at Triplemania XXIX. Andrade also said that the title match needs to happen at Triplemania and that he is excited about going back to Mexico and seeing his fans.

Kenny Omega, the AEW and IMPACT World Champion, would then take to his Twitter account and respond to the challenge issued by Andrade. Omega said he is a busy guy and to give him some time to think about it.

A date or location has yet to be announced for Triplemania at this time, but if the Andrade vs. Kenny Omega Match will take place then it will be Andrade’s first-ever match in AAA. Prior to competing for the WWE, Andrade wrestled in AAA’s rival promotion, CMLL, from 2007 to 2015 as La Sombra. Kenny Omega became the AAA Mega Champion at Heroes Inmortales XIII in October 2019 after defeating Rey Fenix.
