Aubrey Edwards & Tony Schiavone Talk Latest Signings On AEW’s Unrestricted Podcast

It’s an amazing time to be All Elite, with so many history-making developments, changes, and announcements at the league in recent weeks—so Ref Aubrey Edwards and Tony Schiavone decided a catch-up was in order! They share what it’s been like inside AEW following the arrivals of CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Adam Cole, and Ruby Soho.

They speak to AEW DYNAMITE’s return to the road and performing for full-capacity crowds. They talk about AEW DARK’s move to Orlando to tape in front of live audiences, collaborating with other promotions and talent, the growth and development of the AEW Women’s Division, and the launches of AEW FanFest and AEW Heels. Plus, you’ll hear their favorite moments and memories from the pandemic era.

Tony Schiavone on CM Punk’s AEW debut:

“Tony Khan, true to his word, never used the word ‘CM Punk’ at all to anybody. During the meeting he called him, ‘Our special guest.’ Backstage, CM Punk’s room just said, ‘Special guest.’”

Ref Aubrey Edwards on Bryan Danielson’s AEW debut:

“I walk over to go-position [at ALL OUT], and I see him standing there punching the air and kicking—basically warming up like a fighter—and I’m just standing there in awe! There he is! It’s real!”
