Backstage News On Ben Carter Signing With WWE

It was previously reported that AEW Star Miro (F.K.A Rusev in WWE) recently revealed on his Twitch stream that Indie Star Ben Carter has officially signed with the WWE.

According to Dave Meltzer on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio Program, Ben Carter’s decision to sign with WWE had a lot to do with the COVID-19 pandemic as the entire indie scene was affected wherein indie wrestlers such as Carter are no longer able to travel the world and perform on multiple wrestling shows.

When Ben Carter came to the United States, he immediately traveled to Iowa to train at The Black and The Brave Wrestling Academy, under the mentorship of WWE Superstar Seth Rollins.

Carter wrestled talents such as Ricky Starks, Lee Johnson, and even Scorpio Sky when he was in All Elite Wrestling a number of months ago, but Meltzer noted that he is unaware if AEW made any attempt to sign Carter to a contract.

Fightful Select did indicate that both AEW and the WWE had massive interest in signing Ben Carter, who was a free agent until he was signed by the WWE and since testing positive for COVID-19 this past month.

While it has yet to be confirmed, it is expected that Ben Carter will be heading to NXT UK to start his WWE career.
