Backstage News On Will Hobbs Being Signed By AEW

AEW recently announced that Indie Star Will Hobbs has signed a contract with the company. Hobbs made his initial AEW debut back in July during an episode of Dark and has made a number of appearances on Dark since.

Will Hobbs has even made a number of appearances on AEW Dynamite this past month, with one episode seeing him coming out on a losing end to Darby Allin. Hobbs even participated in the 21-Man Casino Battle Royale at All Out, where he eliminated one other competitor and he even made it all the way to the final six competitors before being eliminated by Lance Archer.

Prior to being signed by All Elite Wrestling, Hobbs appeared on Dynamite and Dark as an enhancement talent. Dave Meltzer reported on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that he impressed AEW President and CEO Tony Khan during his matches on Dark that he was ultimately signed by the company and even booked in a match against Darby Allin on Saturday Night Dynamite that the AEW President was reportedly “hands-on” in.

Khan was reportedly impressed with Hobbs during his match against Darby Allin, having the role of putting Allin over, that Hobbs’ days as a jobber are seemingly behind him. The future plans All Elite Wrestling has for Will Hobbs has not been made clear at the moment, but it looks like he may be in line for a push.
