Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent) and “Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy was a guest on a recent episode of AEW’s Unrestricted podcast, where they were interviewed by AEW referee Aubrey Edwards and AEW commentator Tony Schiavone.
During the interview, Best Friends and Cassidy spoke about the idea of coming to the arena in Trent’s mom’s van, getting more TV time due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation and why they signed with AEW.
Below are the highlights:
On the idea of coming to the arena in Trent’s mom’s van:
“We were watching the show and realized there was a week where there were like four different people coming in their car. As a joke, I said as a joke that it would be funny if my mom dropped us off in her van. That was like a week before we did it. We told Tony and he was like, ‘yea.’ My mom was excited to do it.”
On getting more TV time due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation:
“We were sporadically on Dynamite and on Dark a lot which we were happy to do. During the pandemic the roster got smaller, we got a chance to be featured more. We have been on Dynamite almost every week.”
On why they signed with AEW:
“Part of the reasons we decided to sign here was because we knew Matt and Nick (Jackson) were going to put an emphasis on tag-team wrestling.”
