AEW Women’s Star Big Swole has had one hell of a pro wrestling career ever since she debuted with AEW back on August 31st, 2019 when she competed in a 21-Woman Casino Battle Royale on the promotion’s All Out Buy In Pre-Show.
In December 2019, an announcement was made by AEW that Big Swole had signed with the promotion. Big Swole even got the chance to challenge Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women’s Title once in the past.
Unfortunately, Big Swole only worked in one match this year, which took place on the January 12th AEW Dark episode, where she defeated Alex Gracia. She did appear on this past Saturday’s special AEW Dark episode, where she cut a promo on how she wants a title shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship as she was the top ranked female competitor prior to the AEW Women’s Title Tournament being held and she being out of action as of late due to her recent struggles with the Crohn’s Disease.
Speaking of Big Swole and her recent struggles with the Crohn’s Disease, the AEW Star took to Twitter and talked about her recent issues with the disease and how it has led to various other problems.
She said this past year has been filled with ups and a lot of downs. Swole also said after her fight with pneumonia, she was informed resuming her medicine for the Crohn’s disease would result in death given the COVID-19 circumstances. Swole also noted that she was doing alright self-managing until the flare-ups started in the fall.
Swole then said some days she could barely walk and that took a toll on her emotionally and mentally. Big also said living with this disease may seem like a thorn and it is but it also shows her that his grace is sufficient and no matter what happens she’ll smile because she is more than a conqueror.
Big Swole then said she is Swole and that mentality/faith will carry her through it all. She then thanked the fans for their love and thoughtful messages.
This comes after AEW President and CEO Tony Khan took part in a media scrum after Revolution and said Swole had been out of action as of late due to the disease. Khan also noted Swole is a great asset to the company and he hopes they can have her in regular competition as she gets healthier. He even said that Big Swole is a strong competitor and he likes her.
There is no word yet on how long Big Swole will be out of action, but updates will be given once it’s available. Swole is married to WWE Star and one-half of the RAW Tag Team Champion Cedric Alexander.
