Cash Wheeler Arrested For Aggravated Assault, More Details

The Orlando Sentinel reports that Cash Wheeler (real name Daniel Wheeler), who is one-half of the AEW World Tag Team Champions with Dax Harwood collectively known as FTR, was arrested last Friday morning by the Orlando Police Department due to aggravated assault with a firearm and Cash Wheeler was booked in Circuit Court following the arrest.

Daniel reportedly had a hearing Friday afternoon, where his attorney asked the judge for the AEW Star to be released on a $2,500 bond. According to Daniel’s attorney, this was not a domestic issue and he did not know any of the people involved in the said incident, but the prosecutor revealed that Daniel Wheeler allegedly flashed his gun during a road rage incident. The judge agreed to release Wheeler on the $2,500 bond his attorney requested.

Wheeler’s attorney also mentioned that he has no prior criminal history, but the AEW Star was ordered to have no contact with the people involved in the incident and all of his weapons must be turned in, which will be pending depending on the outcome of this case. A warrant for Wheeler’s arrest was filed last July 28 after the firearm incident happened on July 27. Wheeler pleaded not guilty to the charge via his attorney on August 3, but the charge is considered a third-degree felony in Florida.

Cash Wheeler has been in the pro wrestling business for 18 years, six years of which was spent in WWE as part of The Revival. Wheeler then joined AEW in 2020 and has since been a top star in the company. Wheeler and Harwood are scheduled to put their AEW World Tag Team Title on the line against The Young Bucks at All In London, but there is no word yet on if plans will push through due to the incident.

All Elite Wrestling issued the following statement on the incident:

“AEW has been made aware of the charge, and we are closely monitoring the situation. (Wheeler) is fully cooperating with local authorities.”
