All Elite Wrestling released former two-time AEW World Champion CM Punk a number of months ago and it has been the talk of the pro wrestling industry since what is next for Punk and what his future holds in the business, with some fans even thinking he could return to the company soon.
There has been a storyline happening in AEW for a number of weeks now of a Devil character destroying just about anyone backstage and the belief is the Devil is actually Punk and that his release is just a work. As of this writing, no evidence has been presented or shown that this is indeed the case, but in wrestling there is a saying “Never Say Never” and “Anything Is Possible,” so this could happen.
According to latest reports, Punk wants to return to WWE, but company officials declined to sign him, though that can always change. There is no word yet that Punk and Tony Khan has began talks and there are several people rumored to be the Devil character including Adam Cole, Britt Baker or MJF, but the former two-time AEW World Champion did take to his Instagram to post a photo of Ric Flair just before he was revealed to be the Black Scorpion in 1991.
