CM Punk has been on social media for the first time since his AEW suspension. AEW had to take the decision after the superstar got involved in a backstage brawl with AEW EVPs who are also members of The Elite.
The backstage altercation led to a problem for the company as it was in hot water after what ensued. CM Punk ensured that he kept his silence after the AEW All Out Media Scrum. He was silent and didn’t speak with anyone about anything.
What Happened After AEW All Out?
In a recent development in the matter, Ace Steel has been released by AEW. CM Punk took to Instagram and talked about the ‘Blade of the 47 Ronin’ movie on Netflix, which was written by Aimee Garcia and Punk’s wife, AJ Mendez (AJ Lee).
We previously reported that there are talks of a contract buyout, but the only thing that is a hindrance in the conversation is the non-compete clause. AEW has a thought that Punk may head to the WWE if the clause is removed.
While there’s no word from the parties if that’s a possibility, everyone has their own fears. A company like AEW invested a lot in bringing CM Punk back to wrestling. Cody Rhodes was taking care of things at that time, but things changed in the course of a year.
