Cody Hasn’t Signed With WWE Yet, AEW Return Still Possible

It has been reported that Cody Rhodes chose not to re-sign with AEW due to a disagreement he had with AEW President and CEO Tony Khan regarding his contract negotiations and the amount of money he wanted on his new deal. There was also a feeling backstage that Cody Rhodes losing power as an EVP of AEW is another reason he decided to part ways with the company. The conversations between Rhodes and Khan is said to be genuine as well as Cody’s split from the company and it is not them working the fans. Tony Khan was also said to be down in his mood lately after his conversation with Cody ended, but that did not affect Dynamite this past Wednesday night.

What seems to be dismay for AEW is translating to be a lot of excitement for the WWE and WWE Chairman Vince McMahon as he gets to sign a huge star in Cody Rhodes, who happens to be an EVP in AEW, but The American Nightmare has yet to sign with the WWE and is still a free agent as of today. According to a report from Fightful, Cody Rhodes’ “Rhodes To The Top” show has not been canceled and there are still discussions taking place about the future of the show, but the show is heavily focused on Cody Rhodes and Brandi Rhodes’ life and career in AEW, so the show will not be able to continue if Cody Rhodes is not under contract to AEW and if there is no involvement from AEW.

Fightful also reports that Rhodes has not yet signed a contract with the WWE as of today and until he does, there is always a chance that something may happen and he makes his return to AEW.
