Darby Allin Appears At A DEFY Wrestling Event And Offers Nick Wayne An AEW Contract

Top Indie Star Nick Wayne, who has competed for promotions such as DEFY, Black Label Pro and GCW over the past year and who has really made a name for himself on the independent circuit, appears to be in All Elite Wrestling as one of the fastest rising stars and the pillars of AEW in Darby Allin appeared at DEFY Wrestling’s Year V Event this past Saturday night following the main event match between Nick Wayne and Christopher Daniels and ended up offering Wayne an AEW contract despite losing to Daniels.

Darby Allin made his way down to the ring immediately following the main event and offered Nick Wayne an AEW contract. The crowd in attendance then chanted “you deserve it” and as soon as Wayne recovered after going through a physical matchup against Christopher Daniels, he said, “Yes, f**k yes,” happily accepting the contract.

It was noted on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio Program that Wayne’s AEW contract is unique since Wayne is only 16 years of age and in high school, so for the time being he will be under an apprentice type of deal, but when he turns 18 years old, Nick Wayne will join AEW and be offered a different type of contract.

AEW President and CEO Tony Khan has yet to make an official announcement in regards to Wayne’s status in the company, but Wayne obviously impressed the AEW officials and talent scouts that he was offered a contract. Nick Wayne, who is the son of pro wrestling legend Buddy Wayne, took to Twitter and wrote the caption, “All Elite.”
