Erick Rowan’s AEW Status Following Appearance On Dynamite

This past Wednesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite, which was the Brodie Lee Celebration Of Life special show, saw former WWE Superstar Erick Rowan, who is now known as Erick Redbeard and who’s real name is Joseph Ruud, make a surprise appearance to pay tribute to his close friend and former tag partner AEW Star Brodie Lee (Jon Huber) (F.K.A Luke Harper in WWE).

Erick Rowan’s appearance took place during a blockbuster Six-Man Tag Team Match that saw John Silver, Alex Reynolds, and Hangman Adam Page defeat MJF, Santana, and Ortiz. Wardlow tried to interfere in the match but Erick Rowan made his way out and hit Wardlow with a huge slam, taking him out in the process. The former WWE Star then held up a sign that said, “Goodbye for now, my brother. See you down the road.”

Following his surprise appearance on Dynamite, many fans have wondered what Erick Rowan’s status with All Elite Wrestling is going forward. Dave Meltzer said on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Rowan’s AEW deal was just to make a special appearance on the Brodie Lee Tribute show as a surprise.

Dave Meltzer also said that anything can happen in the future and obviously things can change, but as of right now, Erick Rowan is not part of the AEW roster and no talks have been made.
