Former WWE NXT Star Marina Shafir Reportedly Signs With AEW

This past June 25th, 2021, Marina Shafir was released by the WWE reportedly due to budget cuts. After a number of months, Shafir worked on the independent circuit, when she faced Masha Slamovich at GCW’s Josh Barnett Bloodsport 7 Event on October 22nd, 2021 and walked out of the match with a huge win. It looks like the former WWE NXT Star has signed with All Elite Wrestling, but her signing has yet to be confirmed by AEW President Tony Khan or by the promotion, though it appears that her signing could be announced soon, especially after a video package of her aired on AEW Dynamite last Wednesday night.

It was shown on the video package that she has dominated all of her matches on Dark and the opponents put in front of her and that she will be a problem for the AEW women’s roster. Shafir started working for AEW during the Dark tapings last September and she has only one lost to her record and that is to Kris Statlander.
