Former WWE Star Ricardo Rodriguez Worked Wednesday On AEW Dynamite

Former WWE Star Ricardo Rodriguez (Jesus Rodriguez) recently took to his Twitter and thanked the city of Boston, which was the site of this past Wednesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite as he apparently did some commentary work on the Spanish announce team. There is no word yet on if this is just a one-off or if Rodriguez has some sort of a short-term deal with AEW going forward as well as his contract status with the company, but updates will be provided once it becomes available.

Ricardo Rodriguez made his pro wrestling debut back in August of 2006, where he worked for a bunch of independent promotions. He would then work for the WWE from 2010-2014, where he initially wrestled in FCW before being called up to the WWE main roster to be Alberto Del Rio’s personal ring announcer. He would then wrestle as El Local and join the WWE Spanish announce team before leaving the WWE in 2014. Rodriguez also worked as an announcer for Combate Americas as well as a referee for Alberto Del Rio’s wrestling promotion Nación Lucha Libre prior to its closure in January of 2020.
