Last November 18, WWE released a number of talents, including the former leader of the Hit Row stable Isiah “Swerve” Scott. Shortly after Swerve was released by the WWE, AEW officials reportedly inquired about bringing him into the company and they even have plans already laid out for him. According to a report from Fightful Select, former WWE Star Isaiah “Swerve” Scott is expected to sign with All Elite Wrestling soon and he is even expected to begin with the promotion during the first week of March.
The report also states that with Swerve’s arrival in AEW expected to happen soon, officials have been operating as if Swerve was already part of the company and there were even talks that AEW sees him as a crossover star, who could possibly do some talent work on WarnerMedia shows.
Dave Meltzer would also mention on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that while nothing was confirmed as of last week, there was a very good chance that Swerve would be heading to AEW. Since being let go by the WWE, Swerve has competed for promotions like GCW and NJPW even though he is not under contract with them. There was also quite an interest from ROH to sign Swerve when they return from their major hiatus, but that will obviously not happen now that he is rumored to sign with AEW soon.
There is no word yet on when exactly Swerve will sign with AEW and make his debut with the promotion, but with AEW’s Revolution PPV scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 6, we could see the former WWE Star make his highly-anticipated debut on the show.
