Tony Khan On When He Will Reveal His “Massive” Announcement

As previously reported, AEW President Tony Khan appeared on Busted Open Radio and revealed that he is working on something massive for the promotion and hopes he will have it done soon, but he’s not sure if it is what the fans would expect, though he knows it would be a big deal for pro wrestling.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer then revealed that Tony Khan was in meetings the entire day on Friday as he was trying to put together the “massive” deal, but no other details were mentioned as to what that “massive” deal is, though there have been rumors and speculations among fans on a number of social media platforms that the AEW CEO’s “massive” announcement is not related to any sort of talent signing, but AEW potentially teaming up with another promotion to hold a Supershow.

AEW CEO Tony Khan then provided an update prior to last Wednesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite and noted that he can’t yet reveal the announcement, but hopefully he will be able to soon as their legal team has put them under NDAs, meaning he can’t reveal all the details until it has been finalized. He also mentioned that the “massive” announcement is not like “The First Dance” episode of Rampage, when we saw CM Punk make his highly-anticipated return to wrestling, but it is similar in a way that it is huge not only for AEW, but for pro wrestling in general. Khan then said that the massive announcement is a little bit different than anything they have done before, but it is going to be awesome.

AEW CEO Tony Khan recently returned to Busted Open Radio and provided another major update in regards to the “massive” announcement. According to Khan, the fans should definitely not miss Wednesday night Dynamite this coming week as aside from a lot of great wrestling on the show, the announcement he has been talking about for a while now will be revealed on the show and it is not one particular piece of talent, it’s something that is going to be very important in the wrestling business and he is excited about it.

There’s still no word yet on what Tony Khan’s “massive” announcement is, but updates will be provided once it has been made available. Two huge matches have already been announced for Wednesday’s go-home Revolution episode of Dynamite, which is a Trios Match between Adam Cole and reDRagon (Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly) vs. AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page and Dark Order members John Silver and Alex Reynolds.
