Gail Kim started her pro wrestling journey back in 2000, and since then has made quite the impression on one and all. Perhaps thatâs an understatement. In truth, she is a legend of the ring, and one of the forerunners for the womenâs evolution in the sport of pro wrestling for sure.
She worked the indie circuit at the start of her career and was quickly signed to WWE. She had multiple runs there, but perhaps it was during her time at TNA/Impact that she made the most noise.
She is a TNA hall of famer and a 7-time Knockouts Champion for the promotion. She of course also won the WWE Womenâs championship during her time there a single timeâthat platform proving to be a difficult territory to navigate even for someone as decorated and as experienced as Gail Kim.
Regardless, she is legendary in the sport and is secure in her role as producer over at Impact Wrestling. But does she ever get inclined to step back into the squared circle? She addressed these questions in a recent interview on Busted Open Radio.
âI feel good. When Iâm producing and Iâm around the ring, and I start to get a little bit physical, I say, âOh Gail, youâre getting that itchâ âŠI do miss it. Of course I miss it, but my body is a constant reminderâŠ
Itâs not even just that. There are just so many factors for me to come out of retirement and do that again. Itâs like, âOK, do I want my back to get worse? Do I want to take that chance of making it where I do need the back surgery?â. My memory has gotten a little bit worse throughout the whole 15 or 20 years. So Iâm like, âDo I really want to make my memory worse?â âŠ
Who knows what can happen. I was very satisfied with my end match and the way that it happened. How many people can just close that door and just be happy with that? Thatâs a very rare thing, so for me, am I willing to mess that up no matter how much I miss it? I get satisfaction from being backstage and helping.â
