As previously reported, AEW Star “The Bad Boy” Joey Janela showed up at a board meeting held inside a Seminole County school in Florida and was kicked out after he interrupted the meeting and trolled the officials in attendance. Janela and former WWE NXT referee Drake Wuertz, who has clearly been against wearing masks and a supporter of conspiracy theories related to Q-anon, attended the meeting.
Joey Janela was heard ranting and trolling at the school officials, which is what got him kicked out, while former WWE NXT referee Drake Wuertz can be heard insisting and standing firm on his belief that the children should not be forced to wear masks and get vaccinated. Just recently, Janela took to his Twitter and revealed he is auctioning off the outfit he wore at the school board meeting and that the proceeds will be going to NARAL-Pro Choice America.
This is what Joey Janela said:
“I’m gonna auction off my ‘Florida Man’ disguise for NARAL.” “For over 50 years, NARAL has led the fight for reproductive freedom, including the right to access abortion. Bidding starts now and ends midnight Eastern time! Place your bids below.”
Former WWE NXT referee Drake Wuertz has appeared in a number of these Seminole board meetings and has been very vocal on his beliefs, but there’s no word yet on if he knew anything about what Joey Janela was planning. Aside from his political beliefs, other reasons why former WWE NXT referee Drake Wuertz picked up significant backstage heat while he was still working for the WWE include his stand on kids not being forced to wear masks and get vaccinated as well as being a supporter of conspiracy theories related to Q-anon.
Janela last competed for AEW on the Friday, May 28 episode of Dynamite, when he lost to Hangman Page. Prior to that, Joey Janela defeated Daniel Garcia on the May 17 episode of Dark: Elevation and he won a Singles Match against Bear Bronson on the May 25th episode of Dark.
