GCW (Game Changer Wrestling) recently held a live event with an actual crowd in attendance and has been the talk of the pro wrestling world since. The biggest fear was that a number of talents as well as fans will get infected with the COVID-19 virus as it is a venue full of fans in attendance as well as wrestlers in the locker rooms.
AEW Star Joey Janela took to Twitter following the show and issued a statement on a number of those who tested positive for COVID-19, but did mention that the wrestlers and referees have been tested based on the company guidelines and he will make sure everyone has tested negative before wrestling on a GCW show.
Janela also noted that he can’t talk in behalf of everyone, but those fans he talked to in the show felt safe. Janela then said that the locker room was the size of a football field and everyone distanced and wore masks in there too.

Let’s get this straight Everyone of my indie opponents & referees have been tested stated in guidelines from my employer since the beginning of summer, & I’ve made sure of that, going forward I will make sure EVERYONE is tested negative before wrestling on GCW show. No excuses!— “The Bad Boy” Joey Janela (@JANELABABY) October 17, 2020
I can’t talk for you all but most fans I’ve talked to felt safe during the collective. I sat in the stands for about 5 shows and I felt safe, I saw @stepstoolsarahx and @KaiaMcK constantly yelling at drunk fucks to apply their masks properly— “The Bad Boy” Joey Janela (@JANELABABY) October 17, 2020
The locker room was the size of a fucking football field and everyone distanced and wore masks in there too…— “The Bad Boy” Joey Janela (@JANELABABY) October 17, 2020
