JR To Have Sit Down Interview With Spears About Cody Attack

Last month’s AEW Fyter Fest PPV Event saw Shawn Spears hit Cody Rhodes with a vicious chair shot at the back of his head that resulted in Cody’s head being split wide open and bleeding profusely. This was one of the most brutal and insane spots in wrestling history in quite some time. The viscous chair shot would then lead to Cody Rhodes needing 10 stapes at the back of his head.

Prior to last month’s AEW Fyter Fest PPV Event, Cody Rhodes opened up about Shawn Spears and revealed to the entire wrestling world what he though of him, which has been speculated as the reason for the viscous attack.

This is what Cody Rhodes said: He could potentially be a player/coach, eventually a coach.” “Great for the young guys, and he’s a great hand. A utility guy, a good worker — not a star.”

It was recently announced by All Elite Wrestling that Shawn Spears will be having a sit-down interview with AEW Commentator Jim Ross to explain his actions. The interview is set to take place on the first episode of The Road to All Out YouTube Series.

AEW’s All Out PPV Event is set to take place on Saturday, August 31st from the Sears Centre Arena in the Chicago suburb of Hoffman Estates, Illinois. The event will be headlined by Chris Jericho vs. “Hangman” Adam Page to determine the first-ever AEW World Heavyweight Champion and Kenny Omega vs. Jon Moxley.
