Kenny Omega Fires Back On Critics of AEW Women

Elite star asserts much of fan criticism is ignorant and the talent is there to succeed.

All Elite Wrestling headliner Kenny Omega hit Twitter on Thursday to clap back at critics of the All Elite Wrestling women’s division.

Much of AEW’s content since Dynamite hit TNT a few months back received great fanfare, but one of the few exceptions has come with persistent criticism of the development of the women’s division. Omega has seen the complaints and responded with a tweet on Thursday.

Lately, most “criticisms” I read are incredibly ignorant. Depressing the amount of fans that have absolutely no class. That being said, I do try to sift through those to get to the actual constructive criticism

Omega also responded to a question about a possible lack of star power and the main drawing card within the AEW women’s division. You can read his response below.

Though AEW has yet to develop a talent that has garnered the type of fanfare-like Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair or Alexa Bliss in WWE or Tessa Blanchard in Impact, its women’s division has sporadically put on great matches.

As Omega asserted, talents such as Riho, Shida and Kris Statlander own the ability to win over crowds. It seems likely with more consistent air time or a more focused approach in storytelling that the AEW women’s division could easily attract more of a following.
