Kenny Omega’s Full Gear PPV Opponent Made Official

Last week’s episode of Dynamite featured a Casino Ladder Match as the main event, where the winner is set to receive a future shot at the AEW World Championship. The Casino Ladder Match consisted of PAC, Andrade El Idolo, Jon Moxley, Lance Archer, Orange Cassidy and Matt Hardy, with Hangman Page revealed as the joker. The match ended with Hangman climbing the ladder and securing the chip to earn a future shot at the AEW World Title, but it wasn’t announced at the time when Page will fight for Omega’s AEW World Title, though fans speculated that the match will take place at the Full Gear PPV in November.

AEW President and CEO Tony Khan recently had a conversation with Barstool Sports’ Robbie Fox and made the AEW World Title Matchup between AEW World Champion Kenny Omega and Hangman Page official for Full Gear and talked about how the AEW Eliminator Tournament culminated in Omega vs. Hangman last year and now it comes full circle one year later with Omega and Hangman facing off at Full Gear.

This is what Tony Khan said:

“I’m sure you were a fan of the AEW Eliminator Tournament. Last year it culminated in Kenny vs. Hangman, which is very fitting because now as we go into Full Gear this year we’re back, and now Kenny is the world champion and he’s facing Hangman. As we saw last year, Kenny won the Eliminator Tournament and ended up winning the title from Jon Moxley.”

AEW was reportedly planning for this match to take place at the All Out PPV Event, but Page took time off for the birth of his child, while Omega was given a different opponent for the meantime in IMPACT World Champion Christian Cage.
