Kevin Eck Announces ROH Departure After Tony Khan Purchase

AEW President and CEO Tony Khan announced a little over a month ago during an episode of AEW Dynamite that he has purchased ROH and is now the new owner of the promotion as well. Tony Khan also announced that him purchasing the entire ROH library is one of the main reasons the sale went through as he now has access to several important footage in ROH’s history as well as the 2018 All In PPV, which is the inspiration behind AEW’s creation.

Kevin Eck, who has been with ROH for quite some time as the promotion’s columnist, content writer and host of The ROHStrong Podcast recently announced that he is leaving ROH and even though he is leaving the company during the time that Tony Khan is taking over, he believes the promotion is in good hands going forward. Prior to working for Ring Of Honor, Kevin Eck worked for the WWE as a writer and would even work as a manager and a referee in several Indie promotions.

This is what Kevin Eck said:

“On a final note, this is my last column for ROHWrestling.com, as I am finishing up with the company this week.” “I joined ROH six years ago as a content writer for the website. Later, I took part in booking meetings and created and hosted The ROHStrong Podcast.”

“As I’ve said publicly on several occasions, I’ve worked for bigger wrestling companies than ROH, but none better. The ROH locker room was filled with great people who have extraordinary talent, tremendous passion, and a tireless work ethic. It was truly my honor to work with all of them.”

“I believe ROH is in good hands with Tony Khan and I’m excited to see what he does with the brand going forward. As always, keep safe and stay #ROHStrong!”
