Kip Sabian Outside Arthur Ashe During Dynamite: Grand Slam

An episode of Dynamite last April saw Kip Sabian have a run-in in a backstage segment with his former tag team partner and current TNT Champion Miro. The segment saw Kip Sabian being brutally beaten down by the TNT Champion, which would keep him off of AEW TV for several months. The segment was done as a way to write Sabian off of television as Kip Sabian revealed on his Twitter account that he will need to undergo surgery, the injuries of which he has been dealing with since last December. The promotion used the backstage segment of Miro laying waste to Sabian as a way to keep him out of the storylines.

At AEW’s All Out Fan Fest, Sabian took part in an “unauthorized” and unadvertised meet and greet with fans, where he was seen wearing a suit and a box on top of his head with the words, “underrated, over it” written on the box. There was also a sand timer on the side of the box and the caption that says, “Time doesn’t heal…It changes you…,” possibly giving the AEW fans a taste of his new gimmick.

Kip Sabian took part in another “unauthorized” and unadvertised meet and greet with fans prior to the Grand Slam episode of Dynamite this past Wednesday night, which took place inside Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York. According to fans, Sabian just stayed outside the venue while the show was going on and they didn’t even realize at first when they walked right by him that it was Kip under the box.

During the “unauthorized” meet and greet with fans where he wore the same box on his head, Kip Sabian scribbled random things on his 8x10s, the first of which was “recovery”, when a fan would ask the AEW Star about his injury and the second was “soon,” when a fan would ask him about when he will make his in-ring return.

Sabian last competed for AEW on the March 24th episode of Dynamite, where he and Miro lost the Arcade Anarchy Match to Chuck Taylor and Orange Cassidy. There’s no word yet on when Sabian will make his TV return, but updates will be provided as it becomes available.
