AEW TNT Champion Scorpio Sky successfully defended his AEW TNT Title against Dante Martin in the main event of last week’s episode of AEW Rampage. Sky took to his Twitter one day after his successful AEW TNT Title defense and revealed that he went into the title matchup with his knee bothering him and he would unfortunately strain his muscle during the opening moments of the match. Sky also revealed that his right leg was useless from that point on, but despite that, being in California and being able to compete in his hometown felt amazing even on one leg. The AEW TNT Champion then said he hopes that it is nothing serious and he will be back to defend his championship soon.
Dave Meltzer noted on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the AEW TNT Champion is set to undergo an MRI soon, so that more details will be known on his injury. The AEW TNT Champion appeared to be walking fine during his segment with Wardlow on this past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite, so it seems that he will not be missing much in-ring action.
There is no word yet on the severity of Scorpio Sky’s injury and how long he will be out of action if he would be put on the shelf, but updates will be provided once it’s been made available. Scorpio Sky is currently in his second reign as the TNT Champion after beating “The Spanish God” Sammy Guevara in a Ladder Match on the April 27th episode of AEW Dynamite. As of this writing, All Elite Wrestling has yet to comment on Sky’s injury and status.

I went into last nights match with my knee bothering me and unfortunately in the opening minutes I strained a muscle that goes from my knee up through my groin. My right leg was useless from then on. 1/2— Scorpio Sky (@ScorpioSky) June 4, 2022
Despite that, wrestling in SoCal felt amazing even on one leg. Hopefully nothing serious and I’ll be back to defend again soon. 2/2.— Scorpio Sky (@ScorpioSky) June 4, 2022
