Major Update On Sasha Banks Possibly Joining AEW

Former WWE Superstar Sasha Banks (Mercedes Moné), who negotiated her exit from the company months ago and who reached a deal with the WWE this past summer where they agreed to release her as a free agent instead of freezing her contract, made an appearance at NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 17 PPV Event this past January 4 and confronted current IWGP Women’s Champion KAIRI immediately following KAIRI’s successful title defense over Tam Nakano. Moné then challenge KAIRI for her IWGP Women’s Title and their matchup was made official for NJPW’s Battle In The Valley Event on Saturday, February 18 in San Jose.

According to DAZN’s Steven Muehlhausen, Mercedes Moné will be Saraya’s partner during next week’s AEW Dynamite in Los Angeles when the duo teams up to face Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. and current AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter. Baker even dropped a hint on the former WWE Superstar during a backstage interview segment on last Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, when she noted that she was “The Boss” of the Women’s Division in All Elite Wrestling.

Later in the broadcast, Saraya was interviewed by Renee Paquette and revealed that Toni Storm will be her tag team partner against Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. and AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter next week on AEW Dynamite, which obviously upset Hikaru Shida.
