Mention Of Rey Mysterio’s Name Removed From Sat’s Dynamite

This past Saturday night’s episode of Dynamite was reportedly part of the company’s recent set of TV Tapings. A portion of an in-ring segment was said to be edited out.

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Eddie Kingston made mention of top WWE Superstar Rey Mysterio’s name during a promo with Rey Fenix, Pentagon Jr., The Butcher and The Blade the company originally taped, however, it was removed from the show.

There were reports that Mysterio and the WWE were in talks about a new deal. The issue was reportedly financial as Rey wanted an increase in his pay, but at the time he was denied an increase by WWE Chairman Vince McMahon as he referenced the budget cuts back in April due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

AEW reportedly even made an offer that matched what the WWE was offering Mysterio, but Meltzer noted that Mysterio decided to stay with WWE as WWE’s offer was higher because it was for more dates, but there was no mention if Mysterio has signed a new contract with the WWE.

There is no word yet on why a mention Of Mysterio’s name was removed from Saturday night’s Dynamite, but Meltzer recently noted that Mysterio signed a brand-new three-year deal with the WWE not too long ago.
