Moxley Confronts KENTA On NJPW Strong, Sets Up Tokyo Match

At NJPW’s recent Strong Event, IWGP United States Champion, who is also a top star in AEW, Jon Moxley made a surprise appearance at the end of the show and confronted top NJPW Star KENTA.

Moxley made his appearance following the main event match between Lio Rush and El Phantasmo. Lio Rush came out of the match with a huge win and immediately after the match, Bullet Club members KENTA and Hikuleo attacked Lio Rush, Fred Rosser, and TJP.

That is when Moxley made his appearance with his IWGP United States Championship and laid Hikuleo out as well as El Phantasmo with his belt. KENTA and Moxley then came to blows, with KENTA trying to nail Moxley with the GTS. Moxley then countered KENTA and hit him with his Death Rider DDT finishing move.

NJPW’s Strong ended with the IWGP United States Champion Jon Moxley cutting a promo, in which he said that KENTA’s dream of taking away his IWGP United States Title just became a nightmare. The IWGP U.S. Champion would then vow to face KENTA in Tokyo “one of these days” without providing a specific place or time.

Moxley became the IWGP United States Champion at Wrestle Kingdom 14 by beating Lance Archer. He is currently unable to travel to Japan to defend his championship due to the ongoing pandemic.
