During this past Sunday night’s Royal Rumble PPV, a backstage segment took place, where Kofi Kingston reunited with Big E and Xavier Woods and they were sporting a matching New Day gear that paid tribute to the late Brodie Lee.
The gear that New Day wore was maroon and white in color and it included Luke Harper‘s signature red flannel woven within it that he made famous while he was in WWE. The gear also had images of Brodie Lee on the tights and jackets.
The New Day have talked about how much Brodie Lee meant to them and they even dedicated an episode of their podcast in honor of his memory. Big E talked about how much of an impact Lee had on everyone he came in contact with, saying, “He’d text & call people he barely knew when he heard they were sick or grieving. His kindness was boundless.”
Speaking of the New Day paying tribute to the late Brodie Lee at the Royal Rumble, Amanda Huber, wife of Brodie Lee, would take to Twitter and comment on the tribute from New Day. She wrote, “My favorite people.” “Words can’t express the love I have for these 3 incredible men I’m lucky to call my friends. Just, wow. I had no idea they were doing this gear and I’m in tears.”
Big E would then reveal that the New Day are auctioning off their custom Royal Rumble Event gear with the entire proceeds going to the Foodlink NY non-profit based out of the hometown of Brodie, which is Rochester, New York. Amanda Huber would then comment on the auction announcement and said she’s lucky to call them her friends. The gear New Day wore at the Royal Rumble PPV Event was reportedly designed by Johnathan Davenport of Design Mode Studios.
