News On AEW World Champion Kenny Omega’s IMPACT Future

This past Tuesday night’s episode of IMPACT Wrestling saw AEW World Champion Kenny Omega make a huge appearance, alongside his close personal friend and IMPACT Wrestling EVP Don Callis, who is expected to act as his manager moving forward. Kenny Omega and Don Callis were interviewed by IMPACT Wrestling color commentator Josh Mathews about his huge AEW World Title win and what his future holds.

Kenny Omega said in the interview that following his AEW World Title win, he now collects other world titles from other promotions, possibly including the IMPACT World Title. The AEW World Champion Kenny Omega also said that he loves to travel and when he isn’t tied up defending his AEW World Title, then he will eye other world titles and its champions.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Kenny Omega is set to headline a number of events for IMPACT Wrestling and he is also scheduled to make an appearance once again at this Tuesday’s episode of IMPACT Wrestling on AXS TV.

The Observer also indicates that no mention was made of which event or PPV the AEW World Champion will be headlining, but IMPACT’s next big show is the January 16th Hard To Kill special and AEW and IMPACT Wrestling is reportedly considering a blockbuster World Champion vs. World Champion Match, possibly for that event.

This week’s episode of IMPACT also featured a segment where IMPACT World Champion Rich Swann was told by security that he could not go through the parking lot because “the champion,” that being AEW World Champion Kenny Omega had a list of people who were given approval for entry and this upset Swann, who was denied entry in the parking lot, where Omega’s bus was parked.

PWInsider.com said that this Omega and Rich Swann segment was “absolutely” the first step towards a potential Kenny Omega vs. Rich Swann Champion vs. Champion Match for 2021.

Omega’s appearance on this past Tuesday’s episode of IMPACT helped the promotion draw 750,000 viewers across multiple platforms, including a record setting viewership on IMPACT’s Twitch channel.
