News On Backstage Drama Involving Several Top AEW Stars

As previously reported, the opening segment of this past Wednesday’s House Of The Dragon AEW Dynamite saw AEW World Champion CM Punk make his way down to the ring and address the fans after his return to AEW television the week prior due to an injury. Before addressing reigning Interim AEW World Champion Jon Moxley and building towards their upcoming AEW World Title Unification Match, CM Punk called Adam “Hangman” Page out to face him in a rematch for his AEW World Championship and he even had some harsh remarks for the former AEW World Champion.

CM Punk reportedly went to business for himself and his comments towards Hangman Page was unscripted. No one knew as well that Punk was going to do what he did and the comments CM Punk made in regards to Hangman Page was reportedly something that has a lot of real-life issues between Punk and Page.

Dave Meltzer noted on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there is currently a lot of backstage drama in AEW involving many of the promotion’s top stars and it has only gotten much worst in recent weeks. Meltzer also noted that AEW President Tony Khan should have a meeting with the promotion’s top stars to address the issues before things get worse and that Colt Cabana’s AEW status is one of the major issues between Page and Punk.
