News On When Sammy Guevara Was Supposed To Win TNT Title

The main event of this past Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite saw Sammy Guevara beat Miro to become the brand-new AEW TNT Champion and to hand miro his first-ever loss in All Elite Wrestling. Sammy won the match by launching Miro into the exposed turnbuckle, hitting him with a tornado DDT, then the GTH and finishing Miro off with the 630 senton for the 1-2-3.

According to Fightful Select, the AEW TNT Title Matchup between Sammy Guevara and Miro was originally supposed to take place during last week’s Grand Slam episode of AEW Dynamite, but the title match was pushed back one week due to a reason that has yet to be revealed. It was also mentioned on the report that several people backstage knew two hours prior to Dynamite going on the air that there would be a title change and that AEW President and CEO Tony Khan came up with the idea to have the AEW TNT Title change hands at All Out earlier this month.

Next Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite from the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania will see new AEW TNT Champion Sammy Guevara have his first title defense against former WWE NXT Star Bobby Fish.
