NXT Getting One-Hour Head Start Against AEW Dynamite Tonight

WWE announced plans to air a one-hour special edition of last week’s NXT tonight at 7 pm eastern. This gives WWE a one-hour head start against AEW Dynamite.

The one-hour NXT special features Finn Balor’s heel turn on Johnny Gargano and other highlights from last week’s show.

The live NXT broadcast, starting at 8 pm eastern, features;

  • Women’s Tag Team Champions The Kabuki Warriors are taking on Tegan Knox and Dakota Kai.
  • Candice LeRae vs. Io Shirai
  • Tyler Bate vs. Cameron Grimes.

AEW Dynamite will feature;

  • Finals of the AEW World Tag Team Championship tournament between SCU and The Lucha Bros.
  • Young Bucks and Kenny Omega vs. Hybrid 2 and Kip Sabian
  • Hangman Page vs. Sammy Guevara
  • Cody Rhodes and Chris Jericho will sign the contract for their World Title match at Full Gear.
  • The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express will be there to present the World Tag Team Championships to the winners of the tournament.

It will be interesting if the one-hour NXT special has any bearing on this week’s viewership numbers. Both AEW and NXT are going up against a game 7 of the World Series at the same time.
