Sami Callihan injured at recent TV tapings, and Kenny Omega speaks his mind on having Adam Cole and Bryan Danielson at AEW.
Kenny Omega on Cole, Danielson and more
Kenny Omega, Adam Cole, Bryan Danielson and the rest of The Elite have quite the history, and their reuniting in AEW marks a special reunion for a group of wrestlers that dominated the independent circuit throughout the last two decades at intervals and respectively…two of which also dominated in WWE in Cole and Danielson.
In speaking with Adam’s Apple, Omega spoke of their history and just what he thinks of having them back in his life, and in AEW of all places:
“…For a lot of fans, they’re known as WWE guys, perhaps. But for me, they are my friends that I’ve seen and grew up with and done Indies with and toured with so it’s like a high school reunion of sorts. It’s great to work with these guys after four, five, ten years. It’s great to be back with old friends and making new magic because we’ve all changed and all grown and all evolved…”

If you get a chance dear readers, to look for some classic ROH matches featuring this group of men (as well as so many others…even Tyler Black aka Seth Rollins) from the 2000s, you are certainly in for quite the treat.
Sami Callihan injured at Impact TV tapings and undergoes surgery
It was according to a tweet by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer and f4wonline.com, that the news broke. As of this writing, Sami has not made a statement yet. Apparently the injury, in which he broke his ankle, occurred at a TV taping for Impact Wrestling, as even Victory Road was taped some time ago, where he was seen competing just this past Saturday; he faced Moose and W. Morrissey alongside Eddie Edwards—Sami and Edwards were defeated.
This is extremely sad to hear, and as was reported by wrestlingnews.co, this will put him on quite the injury leave…apparently all the way to next spring he will be sidelined.
This too will undoubtedly put an obvious postponement on many shows he had planned, especially his reuniting with Jon Moxley where they as The Switchblades were to take on The Wolves (Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards) in quite the historic reunion the day before Halloween at Tales From the Ring which is taking place in Clive, Iowa, as we reported a few weeks back. I guess we can expect a change to that card, perhaps Moxley now needing to find a replacement partner.
Callihan is also set to marry female knockouts wrestler and currently one half of the Knockouts tag champs, Havoc (the two just got engaged this year on Havoc’s birthday, the 20th of June), and we hope that this will not put a damper on those wedding plans in any way.

We wish Sami a fast recovery and easy convalescence. Hope to see him back in action sooner rather than later.
