Professional wrestling veteran and top AEW Star CM Punk, who is recognized as “The Best In The World” in all of wrestling and who made his return to wrestling after a long 7-year hiatus following his WWE release in 2014, signed with the company in August of 2021. He has since been competing against other top AEW Stars and has amassed one of the best Singles win-loss record in all of AEW, but Punk did not make an appearance on Dynamite last Wednesday night and it led to fans asking questions in regards to his whereabouts.
Dave Meltzer noted on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that CM Punk did not make an appearance on AEW Dynamite last Wednesday night because he has been busy filming the second season of Starz’s “Heels” show, but that The Best In The World will be back soon, though it wasn’t mentioned when exactly Punk will make his return.
This is what Dave Meltzer said:
“That may be the reason why CM Punk wasn’t on either AEW show taped in San Antonio this week and it was noted that the “Heels” show filming is over in a few weeks.
Punk made his promotional AEW debut on The First Dance special episode of AEW Rampage in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois. The pro wrestling veteran would then make his All Elite Wrestling in-ring debut at the company’s All Out PPV Event this past September 5th, when he defeated Darby Allin in a Singles Match. CM Punk has since competed in 11 more matches and has a win-loss record of 12-1 in AEW. Punk’s first-ever loss in AEW happened during the February 2nd episode of Dynamite inside the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois, when he lost a Singles Match to MJF.
Punk recently wrapped up his feud with MJF after defeating him in a Dog Collar Match at the March 6th Revolution PPV Event and is now being rumored to challenge for the AEW World Championship in the near future. There is still about two months for CM Punk’s next feud in AEW to begin before this May’s AEW Double or Nothing PPV Event.
