Recently Released WWE Star Reportedly Headed To AEW

Several talents from the WWE NXT roster was recently released by the company reportedly due to budget cuts and one of the talents is none other than Malcolm Bivens (Stokely Hathaway), who played the role of Diamond Mine’s on-screen manager. Bivens initially declined to sign a new deal with WWE last year, but was eventually convinced to sign an extension with the company, which would have expired sometime next year, though he declined to sign a new deal this past February.

Dave Meltzer noted on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the belief in NXT is that Malcolm Bivens didn’t sign a new contract with the WWE because he is on his way to AEW, but that has not been confirmed yet, though people in the promotion believe that is the explanation why Bivens initially declined to sign as well.

Bivens revealed during a recent interview that rumors about him being offered a contract to stay with the company this past February are true and he did decline to re-sign, but it wasn’t true that he was offered to manage Omos. Bivens also noted that there were conversations in regards to him being moved to the main roster, but he did not want to stay with the WWE because he was unhappy and he spoke with the head writer at WWE NXT Stand & Deliver about his unhappiness.
