REPORT: AEW Dynamite Back Live On May 6th From Jacksonville

Ever since, the COVID-19 pandemic hit US soil. AEW has been scrambling to find places to film its flagship show AEW Dynamite on TNT. The first two weeks on the pandemic, they were able to go live in front of no fans, but that quickly changed to taped in front of no fans. Now it looks like we could be getting live shows again.

Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter said that All Elite Wrestling is likely going back to live programming in a few weeks, likely in early May.

Meltzer pointed out how AEW’s plans could change at a moment’s notice depending on the circumstances surrounding coronavirus and locations. The promotion still has enough taped content to get them through the end of May.

Meltzer reported that the plan right now is for AEW to go back either weekly or more often starting on May 6th. The shows will emanate from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida, for the time being.

In May, All Elite Wrestling will push hard the feuds and planned matches for their Double or Nothing PPV show on May 23rd. No word on if Double or Nothing will take place in Jacksonville or Las Vegas.

Fans can expect to see twice as much talent available for the next tapings. As some talent who hasn’t worked previous TV tapings could be working upcoming shows.

Some talent was not brought in earlier because they were in heavily hit areas of the COVID-19 virus. Some talent have started to go into personal quarantine ahead of the tapings in early May.

It is expected the shows will focus on the talent that will be on the PPV show at the end of May.
