Riho Making Her AEW Return In Women’s Eliminator Tournament

During this past Wednesday night’s episode of Dynamite, an enormous match was announced as one of the opening round matches of the upcoming AEW Women’s Title Eliminator Tournament.

AEW announced that the first-ever AEW Women’s World Champion Riho will be making her return to AEW to square off against the NWA Women’s World Champion Serena Deeb. This will be the first time Riho has wrestled for the company since March of last year.

The upcoming AEW Women’s Title Eliminator Tournament was announced about one week ago, but a date has not yet been set on when the tournament will begin, though a graphic that aired on Dynamite this past Wednesday night said that the tournament will be coming soon. The winner of the tournament will get a future shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship.

Riho last wrestled for AEW on March 18th, losing a Fatal Four-Way Match to AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida. Kris Statlander and Penelope Ford were also participants in the match. Ever since COVID started, Riho has been mostly working for Stardom, but finished up with the promotion in December.
