Shawn Spears Says The Sharpshooter Submission Is “Mine Now”

Last week’s episode of Dynamite saw Shawn Spears defeat an enhancement talent named Baron Black in a Singles Match via submission with the sharpshooter. The sharpshooter submission was reportedly invented by Riki Chosu in Japan.

The move only became popular when it was brought to America and used by WWE Hall of Famer Bret “The Hitman” Hart and WWE Hall of Famer Sting when he called it the Scorpion Deathlock.

Shawn Spears, who is one of AEW’s fastest rising stars, recently took to Twitter and said that he sent a text to Bret “The Hitman” Hart asking a question and Bret Hart told him “Go for it, it works.”

Shawn Spears also said that Chris Jericho mentioned him paying tribute to a Canadian icon by winning his match via the sharpshooter. Shawn Spears then said that it just makes sense that the sharpshooter is mine now.
