Tag Team Tournament Revealed For AEW’s TNT Debut

AEW will begin airing on TNT in the Fall, and fans are excited. Hardcore wrestling fans have been frustrated by the WWE’s product due it its lack in any meaningful tag team wrestling. Tony Khan revealed that fans frustration is about to change in AEW.

Khan, President of AEW, was on the Steve Austin Show and revealed that when AEW debuts on TNT they will have a significant focus on tag team wrestling. This focus includes holding a tournament to crown AEW’s Tag Team Champions.

“We’re going to establish a great tag team division. When we launch our weekly television show in the fall, we’re going to be doing a tag team tournament that’s going to have some of the greatest tag team matches ever on TV. It’s going to be a main focus of our TV.”

“There will be teams competing to get a first-round bye in that tournament, which is a big deal. We’ll have some of the best tag teams in wrestling competing for our Tag Team Championships coming up in the fall.”

It is clear that All Elite Tag Team Titles are on the way and tag team wrestling is back on cable TV. There are several tag teams already in AEW, and it looks like they will be adding more.
