TNT Reportedly Nixes Entrance And Costume Idea For Dynamite

This past Wednesday night’s episode of Dynamite saw The Elite make their way to the ring for their 8-Man Tag Team Main Event Match against Dark Order dressed as the Ghostbusters and a remixed version of the Ghostbusters theme song. AEW music producer Mikey Rukus took to Twitter and revealed that he came up with the remixed version of the theme song on short notice as he got the call several hours before the show aired on TNT, had some technical issues, but was able to deliver on time.

Fightful Select reports that the decision to have The Elite dress up as the Ghostbusters was somewhat a last minute call as well as the original plans had The Elite wearing a Squid Games-inspired costume and coming out to a Squid Games-inspired entrance theme music, but WarnerMedia or TNT officials would make the last minute decision to nix the initial plans prior to the show being aired. The report also mentions that TNT officials didn’t understand and were not aware of how much of a parody the entrance would have been, but there reportedly was no heat on the idea being nixed.

The 8-Man Tag Team Main Event Matchup saw The Dark Order (Evil Uno, Stu Grayson, Colt Cabana and John Silver) beat The Elite (Adam Cole, Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson and AEW World Champion Kenny Omega) via pinfall, thanks to a distraction from Hangman Page, who was dressed as The Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man.
