“The Cleaner” Kenny Omega is recognized as one of, if not the greatest pro wrestler in the modern era and possibly even of all time. He has won championship gold in every promotion he has competed in and he was even one of the first signees in AEW as well as one of the most dominant World Champion in the history of All Elite Wrestling. Kenny Omega last competed for AEW at last November’s Full Gear Event, when he lost the AEW World Title to “Hangman” Adam Page and he has since been out of action as he has had injuries that needed to be surgically repaired and he needed to divert his attention on rehabbing those nagging injuries. Kenny Omega has been so frustrated from his plethora of injuries that he even said one more setback could lead to his retirement from pro wrestling altogether.
AEW President and CEO Tony Khan recently spoke with the New York Post on how Omega has done something more than anyone he has ever seen and that is to carry the promotion on his back despite his injuries and how he doesn’t want to put a timetable on Kenny Omega’s return, but he is optimistic that it will happen.
This is what Tony Khan said:
“I’m always concerned whenever a wrestler has an injury.” “But in Kenny Omega’s case, he carried the load through more injuries than probably anyone I’ve seen.” “I don’t want to put a timetable on it.” “I’m still optimistic Kenny’s coming back.”
Tony Khan also talked about how he thinks Omega is going to be okay as well as how he knows Omega has been through a lot, but he knows The Cleaner is still trying to get back.
This is what Tony Khan said:
“I think it’s gonna go well. I think he’s gonna be okay.” “I know he’s been through a lot but I know he’s still trying to get back.”
