Tony Schiavone speaking post-show after Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite was asked which wrestlers he would like to see added to the roster.
He stated that he didn’t want to say anyone from the WWE as it would be classed as ‘tampering’.
But he did reveal that the tag team champions over on impact are at the top of his wish list. Unsurprising he was able to find a way of taking a dig at impact while praising their talent.
“I wouldn’t mind seeing Gallows and Anderson, because they’re friends of mine, And they work for a s–tty promotion. Wouldn’t mind that.”
While he was giving his answer to the question someone joked in the background that if the tag team were to join AEW and leave Impact that they would ‘get paid on time’. Tony laughed at this quip and this criticism is one that will always be thrown. Unfortunately, Total Nonstop Action has a history of not paying their talent on time.
The Good brothers were not the only talent discussed. Schiavone also revealed that he wants to see a former WWE United States Champion return to AEW.
“I wouldn’t mind seeing Matt Cardona come back, “Matt’s another good friend.”
Cardona initially wrestled for AEW on a limited appearance contract over the summer. The contract actually was specifically signed for Cardona to make 5 appearances. His last match was a tag match at AEW All Out this past September.
Cardona has expressed his desire to return to AEW but at the moment his future with the company is in the air and there is no news to suggest that a return is on the cards.
