Former WWE Star and current AEW Star Jon Moxley, who signed with All Elite Wrestling back in 2019 and made his promotional debut for the company at that year’s inaugural event known as Double or Nothing, has been a top calibre talent in the pro wrestling industry for several years now. Moxley is a former one-time AEW World Champion and has since been competing on AEW TV on a regular basis despite dealing with an injury.
Dave Meltzer mentioned on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio Program that Jon Moxley is currently nursing a hamstring injury, which he suffered during training and even though he didn’t get it while competing in the ring, he is unsure whether or not it has gotten worse while he is competing in the ring. Meltzer also mentioned that the expectation is Jon Moxley will still continue to wrestle each and every week despite nursing the injury, but that this is a good sign in terms of its severity as he is still able to compete.
This is what Dave Meltzer said:
“Moxley by the way has a hamstring injury that he’s working on. He worked a couple of times this week on it but he got it. He didn’t get in the ring although may have…I don’t know if he hurt it worse in the ring, but I just know he came in, and he got it in training. He’ll still be wrestling probably every week and all that but he’s nursing the new injury.”
There’s no word yet on when exactly Jon Moxley suffered the injury, but he has certainly been dealing with the issue all weekend.
Prior to making his highly-anticipated AEW return on the promotion’s episode of Dynamite last January 19 from the Entertainment & Sports Arena in Washington, D.C., Jon Moxley last competed for AEW on the October 27 episode of Dynamite, where he defeated Dark Order’s 10 in the first round of the AEW World Championship Eliminator Tournament. Shortly after that episode of Dynamite, Jon voluntarily took time away from wrestling and admitted himself into a rehabilitation center for treatment on alcohol abuse. Moxley last competed for AEW on this past Wednesday night’s episode of Dynamite, defeating Jay Lethal in Singles action.
